Hi, thanks a lot for stopping by our travel-blog site. This is going to be our journal of sorts for what should turn out to be the trip of a lifetime…The Great Loop. We will do our best to keep Family and Friends informed on the different legs of our journey.
And now a little more about us: Kent and I have been married for 42 yrs, and are looking forward to the next chapter of our life after having recently retired. We have been boating most of our married life. We started out with a 15′ Glastron and have worked our way up to a 41’Cruiser Motor Yacht, our 6th boat. We bought it in Knoxville, Tennessee 14 yrs ago (the day our first granddaughter was born) and with the help of friends spent two weeks driving it home. We plan on doing a side trip back to Knoxville (hopefully this time with out as much stress since now we’re on a permanent vacation).
We have been planning and getting ready for this trip for three years. In preparation Kent has updated the navigation equipment, which included a chart plotter, digital colored radar, auto pilot, and rear thruster (seems that he loves to drill holes in the boat :). We purchased a dinghy and of course had to add davitts to the swim platform. Hopefully that’s everything we need. (I’m sure he could think of more to add if he had the time.)
Please stop back to “see where we’re at on our 8,000 mile journey.
Hopefully we’ll see some of you along the way… 🙂
